Education

Since part of our mission it to get more people on bikes, we believe it is very important that everyone knows how to ride a bike safely.  Our education efforts teach children and adults safe-riding skills that will help them get around by bike with confidence.  Bicycles are considered vehicles in all 50 states, and as such must follow the rules of the road, including those specific to bicyclists.

Through our adult cyclist education program we work with cities, partner organizations, and local instructors to host bicycle safety skills classes.  It is estimated that 60% of adults would like to ride a bike more often but are intimidated by the challenges of navigating a bike in traffic.  By teaching practical bike-riding skills, we empower more people to use a bike for transportation.

Our League Cycling Instructors (LCIs) offer courses to suit the needs of any cyclist.  Certified, insured and equipped to teach anything from basic skills to college level courses, LCIs are experts in bicycle education and safety.  LCI's can also offer modified versions of our courses, design bike rodeos and provide general safety consulting.
