Our 10th Annual Toledo Ride of Silence will be held on May 15 starting and ending at Gateway Area 25 located adjacent to the University Parks Trail at the University of Toledo (near Secor and Dorr). The ride will be slow-paced (12 mph Max.) covering ~10 miles. We will be escorted by Toledo City Police, Ottawa Hills Police and UT Police on route. Helmets are required. This event is free and open to the public. No registration necessary.
We will depart promptly at 7PM so please arrive 6:30~6:45PM. During the ride, we will pause at Ottawa Hills HS in memory of Dave Larabee, killed on his way home from work in 2005, Toledo Children's Hospital in memory of Dr. Stephen Snedden, killed while biking along River Road in Perrysburg Township, and Ottawa Park in honor of Dr. Robert Brundage.
While we remember the 22 Ohio cyclists killed in 2018, there were three close to home: Ronald Chamberlain, Lewon Talley and Dr. Mark Wladecki. We will also remember and honor Tom Santoro, Eric Ramlow, Douglas Kania, Sierah Joughin, Matthew Billings, James Lambert, Emilee Gagnon, Harvey Bell III, Andy Gast, Adam Little, Jimmy Hughey, Jeff Roth and others prior to the start of the ride. This is a community event supported by the Maumee Valley Adventurers, Maumee Valley Wheelmen, Toledo Bikes and Toledo Area Bicyclists.

Join cyclists worldwide in a silent slow-paced ride (max. 12 mph) in honor of those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways. There is no brochure, no sponsors and no registration fees. The ride, which is held during Bike Safety month, aims to raise the awareness of motorists, police and city officials that cyclists have a legal right to the public roadways.
